Section 1

Local spaces, visible results

Community clean-ups focus on the places people use every day, helping neighborhoods see immediate improvement and feel more connected to their shared environment.

Section 2

How KTMB approaches this work

The model combines community participation with local coordination so cleanups feel organized, welcoming, and visibly effective.

  • Center specific neighborhoods, parks, river areas, or public-use corridors.
  • Create accessible volunteer moments that can scale for small groups or larger teams.
  • Use cleanup work as an entry point into longer-term community stewardship.

Section 3

How it works in practice

KTMB’s live community cleanup page is very operational: the organization provides tools and supplies, while businesses or groups bring the volunteers and coordinate with KTMB on logistics.

  • Choose possible dates and give KTMB a rough volunteer count.
  • Identify the preferred part of town, park, open space, or river area.
  • Coordinate supply pickup and return with KTMB after the cleanup.
  • Complete the post-cleanup report so the impact can be documented.

Good to know before scheduling

Some months fill quickly, so the app should set expectations clearly and direct overflow participation to current public events when needed.
